First, HeatWave’s installation location into a wastewater pipe is to be determined. It should be installed as close to the heat source as practical. HeatWave is then installed by cutting out an 80-inch section of the waste pipe and replacing it with our unit.

A cold water supply line is then attached to one end of the unit and the opposite end is piped to the boiler. Cold water enters the building from an outside water supply line on average at 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat is then transferred from the hot wastewater to the cold fresh water; increasing the 45-55 degree cold water to 90-110 degrees Fahrenheit.
This pre-heated water feeds the boiler, resulting in reduced energy usage and monetary savings.
